| How do I begin to end this.
Remember a busy MRT station. It is warm and irritating. And as usual, the person over-dresses, and the heat is killing him. And he complains and complains and calls his friend who isn't here yet.
"Eh wait wait I'm on my way already."
He still isn't. The person gets super pissed.
"We are already super late!" And five minutes later the guy is ever-bothered. Irritatedly, he walks towards his friends house.
"His house is so near the station - why can't he be on time for once?"
Remember a large house - the one after the yellow bump he always says. Inside someone just put down the phone. He finally switches off the TV after Laguna Beach finishes. He is super late as usual. He goes up and takes a bathe and then leaves his house finally.
Busted! He bumps into his friend just outside his house. And the next part is censored.
They finally take the train down to the station.
And they are surprisingly early.
She just left her house. The other one is with her as usual.
After an agonizing wait and complaining, at least in a nice cool station this time, they finally appear out of the long long escalator.
"FINALLY!"
And then they go on a budget meal. You know they can't spend that much with twenty in their pockets each.
Then maybe they dance across the road/listen to music/sit at subway/watch people go by.
And then sometimes she will pull them all by their arms/push them into wherever to watch a super lame dumb movie.
And they rush to take the last train home. Two to Serangoon. One to Hougang. One to Sengkang.
It is so amazing how stereotypical our weekend could be. I mean seriously - we were SUPER UNCREATIVE? I mean - Dhoby Ghaut like EVERY WEEKEND? I think the most interesting thing we ever did was to play board games ONCE at Mind Cafe. Besides that, it was just always eating subway and walking around.
I really don't know what to say. I underestimated how amazing this friendships could have shaped my life. Every single one of you have really defined who I am today. And it is really crazy how we can talk to each other about anything because we know each other so well - sometimes too well in fact.
I remember so many things.
Here are like a million pictures that will help me remember what I won't call a journey, but more like a really really fun dream that I'm just going to wake up from. A phase I am going to grow out of. A group of friends I'm really going to miss forever.
Let's start from the as far as we can go.
Joel's birthday party. I remember our favorite song was "Home" by Michael Buble. And I remember Kenric just somehow kept singing "Rape Me" by Nirvana to us. THis is when we were still all so skinny.
I will really miss having someone as crazy as this do this pose when taking pictures with me.
With Maya and Meiling at the airport. When KENRIC WAS STILL FAT!!!! And I remember how I cartwheeled into the MRT train and Changi. And how Katrina complained I couldn't take good photos at all. And I remember we were all about listening to Kenric sing "An Jing".
That was SOME AWESOME YC. I just remember the dance at the beach, and Katrina you were always there for me when I was at my lowest. And how you taught me how to slow dance properly because I was almost incapable of doing so before that. AND SOME WHAT'S HER NAME WAS JUST HOLIDAYING IN SCOTLAND! And I remember Kenric singing Don't Cha at the performance thing.
HAHA I remember the day we just decided to be geeky and wear glasses.
And HOW we used to be crazy about FIVE COLORS IN HER HAIR by McFly. And HOW we prankcalled pretending to be selling Macdonalds.
And those VERY CRAZY sleepovers where Kenric and I would go to Serangoon Gardens and back with DVDs and just rock out to our rock anthems all night. And then we would call the girls and get into so much trouble for making fun of Jesmine.
Rocking out at Serangoon Gardens!!!
AND SISTER AUBREY'S BBQ/SLEEPOVER! I remember LAUREN the EMO-GIRL. And LUKAS ROSSI was man of the moment. Singing CREEP by Radiohead at the playground. Playing charades all night. It was some insane stuff.
SEXY KENRIC.
OK MAJOR WEIXIN PARTY SPAMMAGE NEXT. I remember us Cranking that. And we met so many new friends. And we were the only ones really on the "dancefloor" and we got weird stares but whatever right.
AWWWWWW.
WILL.I.AM. MAN OF THE MOMENT.
MOST FREAKING AWESOMEEEEEE YC EVER.
I just want to go read my YC autographs now. Remember Kylie and Joel was there. And AS FROZEN AS AN AFRO! Crazy things, crazy things. And we wouldn't swim cause it just ain't cool.
When Kylie was back. We stormed the streets with OUR SEAWEED!!!! And watched the most @($&)$*#$ show ever WANTED. Which was so bad.
KANYE shades.
AND HOW MANY TIMES did we try to take a group shot at MACS? AND KATRINA YOU WERE DAMN LATE I STILL REMEMBER.
THIS WAS AT SOME DANCE AND BOY WERE WE WORKING THE TOP MODEL SHOTS. What was the song of the moment - I can't exactly remember. GIRLFRIEND YESSSSHHHHHH We all learnt CRANK that and the GIRLFRIEND dance remember?
And Kenric started losing weight just like (snap fingers now I AM SASHA FIERCEEEEEE) And kept wearing the trendy jacket to church the missionary asked him WHAZZZZATT?!
And cause Sam laughed at my sweat mark. We shall have ONE MINUTE TO LAUGH AT:
HER WHORISH TOP!!!! AHHAAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHA
AND YC 08 - THIS YEAR. I was all about just the AMK guys. SOME SASHA WAS AT SCOTLAND AGAIN? So we ignore her.
Remember cricket sounds. And FIERCE. And YOU DO NOT. AND AWESOME.
WORK IT OUT TOP MODELS.
UNO - which YI HONG WAS DAMN BAD AT! BUT GOOD AT CRUMPING AT LEAST. OH YESH song of the moment was LOW LOW LOW LOW and CRUMPING was like the in thing.
THE DANCE. AND PARAMORE WAS LIKE THE THING - THAT'S WHAT YOU GETTTT
ALL the crazy things. we did.
AND REMEMBER THAT INSANE SLEEPOVER WE HAD - WITH THE TALENT-TIME THE NEXT DAY AND WE WERE LIKE WHAT TALENT-TIME? And Sister Serene got so pissed with us.

ARGH You guys are bleargh. Taking photos using my com while Gayle and I went to get materials last minute. And what was it - DON'T STOP THE MUSIC??? Song of the moment!!
All of us, but really mostly the four of us. Have been really special. I just really want to be Sec 3 now. And I don't mind waiting in the heat for Kenric that A!(#$!$ to watch Laguna Beach and take half an hour to bathe. And I don't mind waiting for Samantha and Katrina cause they left their house super late. And I don't mind when we all dressed very badly. And I don't mind we only had twenty dollars and were budgetting like crazy.
I just want to go back to those happy times. At Plaza Sing. Where I had some of the best ever times of my life.
Anyway as I promised - we must be the most silly people ever and an unglam picture to represent each of us in the most horrendous fashion - to remember this very very silly group of friends.
KENRIC.
SAMANTHA - HAHAHA I ALWAYS BLACKMAIL HER WITH THIS. But I can't anymore. Anyway DISCLAIMER she is ten times prettier than this ok! hahah
BRYAN YUCK YUCK YUCK YUCKKITY YUCK.
KATRINA
But since she is leaving I will leave her with a nice picture:
Katrina Harwood Su-Mei. You are super bad at telling jokes. And to be honest - sometimes when you tell me about your school stuff I sort of like go ok ok and that's all I do. And sometimes I'm sorry if i am nonchalant during early morning seminary.
BUT - YOU really really really brought so much to my life. You are always there when I need someone around to talk to (which makes me super guilty I don't always do the same for you). And you are always there to gather us when we get tired of each other. And you are most importantly always always there to put a smile on my face and put me back on track. For all this. Thank you.
| I think there are two things you must be very careful about when you blog. And that is religion, and race.
If you are mature enough, and logical enough, you will see how you should NEVER say a religion is being manipulated by MAN. Because that statement is enough to undermine the entire basis of religion itself - which is supposed to be doctrine from a God.
By saying that "religion has been manipulated by man for their own causes" is the same as saying that the doctrines are constructed by man and it is not God-inspired, which is not what religious people believe in. This undermines everything that religion is based on because religion believes that God has set apart his religion as a way that he believes will separate those who believe in it and those who do not - such that the righteous will be "saved" on the last day. We believe that everything that a religion stands for, everything it asks of those who believes in it, is ALL from God who is omnipotent and controls his religion the way he wants it to be.
And I am referring to every single religion that exists. I'm not here to argue which religion is right, or wrong. But I am saying that the most basic respect you can give a religion is that you should NEVER EVER tell people that they are blinded by their religion, or their bibles or doctrines, and they are being manipulated by man to do their causes.
My assumptions of course exclude all religious fundamentalists groups, because that is a whole different matter.
Even so, NO ONE should ever have the right to say something like this:
"I mean, u can be faithful, but there is a point where complete and utter faith will result in mistakes being made. Whoever said you cant be faithful and still make the right choice for the benefit of everyone in society is stupid. That will be a subscription of "absolute belief" which to me is pointless because YOU ARE LIVING ON THIS LIFE! You are not in heaven, or hell, or purgatory, u are living in a world with other living, breathing people, and to be absolutely blinded by the secular such that they compromise the rights of the non-secular or those not in their religion is not justifiable. There ARE people who do that. And don't tell me to study the Bible, bcos those who do are being blinded too, to insist the Church does no wrong. It's such an absolute absolve of any responsibility and ability for wrongdoing that it's really unbelievable. These churchgoers, they are human too, and though the good pastors may teach them good, there are those who will do evil."
BY THE WAY to the guy who wrote this - secular refers to the non-religious?
I NEVER BELIEVE that any pastor will do evil. Maybe not all churches may have the full truth, but I do see value in what every single religious entity teachers their followers. Going to Ivan's church last last Sunday was of course very uncomfortable because I was uncomfortable with the way their sacrament was so informal. But I did see a lot of value in the Pastor's thoughts about paying a tithe, and submitting oneself to the Lord. I felt that I did learn, although he wasn't from my church.
Thus, I will respect other churches. They may be different, but they are definitely not wrong, especially in their teachings.
And it is absolutely RUDE to suggest that all people who read the bible and insist that it is true is being blinded by a faith. The fact that we believe in a faith is not because we are foolish, or delusional, or blind, but because we have been converted and our senses tell us something about what we see is true. We too are thinking individuals who can rationalize and judge things for ourselves.
Alright, you may say that you don't have to believe in everything, especially when you see that something is wrong. For example, people may find it absurd that Mormons do not drink coffee or tea, yet can drink Coke. Something is wrong they say. And why don't I drink coffee then because I feel there is nothing wrong with it.
It is because when you actually believe in see value in a religion, you will believe things that you may not understand, because you humble yourself and believe that God understands, and ultimately he wants to best for us. If you believe in a religion, you either believe in it FULLY, or not at all. Because if you believe in your religion, you believe it is entirely from God and you do not question things which you do not exactly understand.
Hence, this is what I am saying when I say that you cannot say that some parts are wrong and created by man because that undermines the religion ENTIRELY, and who it is from.
Anyway, I stick by my stand that those who do not study the bible should NEVER criticize christianity at all. I believe that if you do not even study it for yourself you have no right to criticize any part of it. It is like not understanding a person entirely and then criticizing him from what you hear through secondary opinions of others.
At the end of the day, the debate for whether religion had a part to play in the success of Proposition 8 is long and weary. I admit it did - but I will not dare say that man USED religion to push forward Proposition 8. Honestly, what GOOD does man get out of doing so?
That person also wrote this:
"Honestly, what rule in the Bible says Californians can't be Christians/Catholics/Mormons and STILL vote 'No'? It's not like they can change who they are anyway.
If you're straight, you're straight. If you're gay you're gay. It's not like if you vote "No" against Prop 8 you're automatically gay or a blasphemical God-hater.
It's so irrational I don't know what to say.
I'll tell ANY Mormon or Catholic (though there's less issue with Catholics), that even Jesus or God will approve of same-sex marriage.
If we use your chain of logic of religion to argue, God shouldn't be mad at same-sex couples; HE CREATED THEM!
In Consequence 2 of "Yes to Prop 8", there is this point about 'God is perfect, and always will be perfect.'
Well, how do YOU know that God didn't MEAN to create gay people? I'm quite certain that God created us just to teach you religious nuts how to tolerate and accept.
Think about it. God's watching this whole battle right now, and He's nodding in agreement to what I have just typed, because He knows that I got the gist and understood his idea better than the so-called Mormons who go to church faithfully and still hate other people who are different, ALL IN THE HOPES OF STILL MAKING IT TO HEAVEN."
To that same person: I would want to watch what I say because in everything you have said, you have implied that Mormons/Catholics are not inspired by God and you are suggesting that their beliefs are a result of blasphemy.
And there are many, many points that are flawed because we of course, believe that God created gay people. And we are never ever taught to, and never do hate gay people.
So please remove all these flawed statements from your blog.
You may still be immature and refuse to see any value in what I just said. You may think that I am wrong. But with those statements, your opinions can never be right.

I'M NO ZHIXIAN. I mean usually I'm not one to gush all over council and the following paragraph is usually found more in like a totallynothappening blog.
BUT I SERIOUSLY LOVE TAKE 5 COMM!!! As in everyone is really really awesome. On workday I had a terrible flu, but work was still very fun because the people are awesome! As you can see from the picture I am not all like HEY CAMERA LET'S TAKE PICTURE COUNCIL MATES! kind of person, but I really enjoyed myself!
Most awesome comm people ever - and all of them make me want to start work immediately! Very very funny people! Really love talent-time comm. - WHERE ARE OUR PICTURES! WHO HAS OUR TO-SCALE TSD WORTHY SET MODEL OF OUR WONDERFUL LAYOUT!!! Haha Pei Gee and Si Lei will be so proud!
And I can't wait to judge talent-time with Shi Yang and Charlene! Very exciting! And I will try not to laugh at anyone! PLEASE JOIN TALENT-TIME WE NEED MORE PEOPLE!
And yes you aren't reading totallnothappening's xanga.
Anyway, we had our Local Service Learning for ISLE China today at Evergreen Primary today! Was a group facilitator with Jia Hui for this really awesome, VERY VERY NAUGHTY group of boys. Let me see if I can still remember their names - Ah Jing, Yee Khang, Jordan and Eugene! Yes! They were rowdy and vulgar and super active. But very very hilarious! And I really had a very fun time with them because at the end of the day - they were still very respectful to us!
It was hilarious how we were poking fun at Eugene. Anyway Eugene is this very naughty boy like super rowdy and who keeps running about. And there was this game called the Sari game where we wanted the boys to be sporting by just like dressing up anyhow in the Sari! And all the group members wanted him to do it! And then he was like AAH I DONT WANT TO LAH - I DONT WANT TO LOOK LIKE GAY. Then we were telling him how he would be manly and brave if he dares to do it.
Then the most hilarious part was when he started pulling the cloth and holding it to his waist! Then we were like "Don't lie I know you WANT to wear this!" And we kept poking fun at him and he was super funny as well. Anyway after that Jordan decided to be sporting and yeah. Really really enjoyed myself.
And time passed by so fast - I mean I really was like aregh dreading to go all the way to Woodlands but I don't thing I laughed so hard till today. Really had a lot of fun! I was laughing till I was going to get a headache.
And the trip home with Alaric, Madhu and Sara was hilarious as well! I REALLY REALLY CANNOT CANNOT CANNOT WAIT FOR ISLE CHINA! I don't think I've looked forward to a holiday so much. I mean I think it is a holiday where I will really be able to leave everything behind, and just really enjoy myself - experiencing new culture, meeting new people and taking pictures!
And I have been practising my Chinese - am very determined not to embarass myself when I'm there. I still remember when I hosted these NUS Chinese Brethren (HAHA Ms Lim.) And they had only learnt English for a few months and when I talked to them they said my Chinese was as good as their English as a joke!
I mean I felt kind of bad but it was kind of true! What does an A for Chinese stand for if I can't speak Chinese for nuts. I can't say the normal words at all and I feel unconfident speaking it. I shall really really watch A LOT A LOT MORE HONG KONG drama in order to be able to speak better chinese - and I shan't look at the subtitles at all I promise!
SHOOT I REALLY CANNOT WAIT to experience a rural, untouched cultural China at it's best.
AND NOW you need to check if this blog is really still bryxer's xanga because all this "OH YAY IM SO EXCITED"* in a high pitched voice is starting to sound very Zhixian.

| TIRED!
No tomorrow indeed. All I can say about these shoppers at the CLUB 21 BAZAAR SALE! is that they surely personify the "no tomorrow" attitude. Everyone was like buying every single thing. The weirdest thing is when people see you have something and they look menacingly at you to see if actually they could have got that.
I didn't actually think that the sale would have been so popular because there were HUNDREDS of people packed into that small room throwing clothes about. If you are going, seriously, bring a spade and A LOT of patience. Anyway, there is almost nothing left I guess - I mean all the good stuff have been snapped up by just almost anybody and everybody you can think of.
Anyway I was quite excited and this thing reminded me of the whole Primark experience! I remember how we were in England and we really really wanted to get to Primark for super cheap and nice and awesome clothes. And we couldn't find it because it was at the tail end of Oxford Street, and I, being a boy was supposed to read directions for Rachel, Mel and Sipei. And when we reached, we were so pissed because it closed it's entrance. And being super desperate we said I was looking for my mum inside, but the security guard didn't let me in through the exit.
And we all got super pissed when we saw people holding Primark bags because they were really everywhere! Like today! Everyone was holding Club 21 Sale bags!
Anyway I really miss shopping in London! It was seriously the most awesome experience ever. Somehow it was not tiring at all. I will always remember the crossroads of Oxford Street - with Zara, Topshop, River Island, Gap, Urban Outfitters,H&M, etc. etc. flagship stores all at the same place - FOUR STOREYS each.
But really - the most awesome thing was finding really nice clothes in places like Primark - that were really jewels! The most awesome thing about shopping is buying something on an impulse, regretting it, and then realising that it was the best buy you've ever made like three months later! This was the case for a lot of these "English" clothes! Like we all seriously didn't see the value in them - we just bought cause they looked awesome, then we regretted cause it was an impulse, but then we realised that when we came back to Singapore - no one was wearing anything like it!
Speaking of wearing things like one another - can I NOT SAY HOW MUCH I really detest loafers and white shorts and shirts? I must say that it is quite a nice trend, but not when it is starting to be reproduced in every single wardrobe by every guy trying to look chic? I see it all now in random stores everywhere - which are really badly made!
So I have resigned myself to not wearing white shorts anymore! I think not everyone can pull it off anyway! I think the only time I've seen someone wear it well was this Malay guy in City Link - still remember because I was with Nabil and he was wearing it early this year - when everyone was still wearing skinny jeans!
AND RIVER ISLAND - awesome clothes but insane prices! I mean - I know your clothes are nice, so please let everyone buy it too! I really think they are overpriced! Although it's new stuff are really nice!
Anyway I must stand here and patent checkered grey long pants! Please let it not be a trend!
Today I realised that I really met a lot of people from everywhere - church, school, old school, other schools, reach cambridge and random places!
And I should seriously stop talking because I am no more coherent!
Oh but today was a really really funny H3 History Start-Up lecture! Melissa is hilarious! Seriously I want her to be in my class! I have never met anyone so hilarious without having to try! I think Melissa should have her own reality show. It can be called the "SERIOUSLY SHOCKED & STUNNED LIFE OF MELISSA HOH"!
I mean people can be shocked - but they don't sit there with their hand at their mouth for 10 seconds - mouth wide open and gasping!
And I know people can be impatient to talk to teachers - but not stand in front of a whole lecture with giving your "burgh" look for a whole 5 minutes!
And today I just had a lot of fun talking to people - Yuzhou, Celine, Arina, Suvi - even the Starbucks guy who sold me the soil latte. (which was for someone else).
Ok how do I make this coherent - WHAT A GREAT DAY!
Oh yeah I remembered why I wanted to talk about the H3 history lecture! You know it was so tempting to do something about Africa for my History research paper as well - but I instead chose to do Singapore History - which is really actually quite fun because we are doing primary research for it. I have decided that as part of my "Investigating my Research Paper" Segment I have scheduled visits to museums and random places next week! This is really Young Botanist/Zoologist Award! So awesome!
I should really stop rambling!
| THIS IS WHAT YOU CALL A HOLIDAY.
I am so happy with my "holiday" now.
Here is my daily schedule:
Waking up late Watching TV Doing some work Watching TV Going out Sleeping whatever time i want!
EVERYTHING minus the "doing some work" part is what I finally finally call a holiday. "Holidays" have not been very holiday-like since Rafflesian life started so I'm really glad that we are back to these relaxing times!
Anyway Benji sort of helped me interpret my dream, and it actually all made kind of some sense to me. He said about how dreams are a reconstruction of reality and not really all made up, and dreams are actually a lot less complex in its meaning than we think it to be.
So it is something like the reference to Hong Kong, could either be because I used to live there, or cause I've been watching too much hong kong dramas. And something tells me it is the latter.
Then Benji said something about how it could mean that I am thinking about the less fortunate and their plights a bit more nowadays. And then I remembered - that when I was out with Sam and Katrina the other day, I met this amputee in Orchard Road who did not have one arm. And with the other one, he was begging for money. I felt very sad so I took out all my coins and then gave it to him.
On my way home, I kept thinking about whether I really did anything to help him - and wondered if I should have given more. And whether giving him all my loose change was really a sacrifice, and whether it was just out of convenience rather than real pity. I really hope that that man gets a meal and stuff, and if I remember, with the little bit of change in his hands, I'm not sure if he can really get anything to eat.
So maybe that was the reason why I had that dream.
Anyway yesterday I had the MOST ENJOYABLE NIGHT in a long, long time. I really haven't laughed so hard for a long time - Thank you to - Sadikin, Shawn, Law, Gregory, Desmond, Kang Jie, Ryan, Shayne and everyone who made the night so enjoyable and funny!
I'm really glad how we started this Alumni thing, and I hope that we will continue it on - as RIPB has almost no visible alumni system, except for Human Resource 07 - which is really awesome. And it really is all down to the good work of Kang Jie, THANKS!
HUMAN RESOURCE 07/08/09/10
FOUR BATCHES!!
I had to put in two pictures because all these peacocks are just trying to get all the limelight as we take each picture - owing to the fact that in the second picture the most important SENIORS are blocked?! Preposterous really.
Anyway, I admit that we stuck to our own groups a little too much - it's ok next time we should have a barbeque or something that can get everyone together instead! I mean I know we love buffets but it is expensive!
But I really really enjoyed my time with Shawn, Sadikin and Law. I mean all these jokes. I can't put a single one here cause they were SOOO provocative ok. I can only use key words like - roasted pork and grinding.
And RIHANNA IS COMING! I am really awesomely excited! And my Hong Kong Drama is starting in an hour so I have to finish these China Studies Readings before tomorrow's lesson!
